Chuck has a cousin that lives in Vegas that we haven't seen in years, so we decided to drive through
Las Vegas on our way up to UT. We were going to just stop for lunch and a quick visit, but when we compared hotel prices, we realized that it'd be a much better deal just to spend the rest of the day and night in Vegas, and then just get up early to continue our journey. There is so much to do and see in Vegas! We stopped at the
Bellagio to see their famous fountain show.

The inside of the
Bellagio was so pretty. They had TONS of flowers and fountains shooting water all over the place.

Carson recognized this chandelier right away from his Book of World Records. This is the World's largest glass sculpture. This picture totally does not do it justice--it is gorgeous.

There is a yummy
chocolate shop in the
Bellagio. It was a little pricey, so we just got a vanilla flan for all of us to share.

The chocolate shop is also the home of the world's largest chocolate fountain, pouring 3 different kinds of chocolate at once. This is my kind of place!

It was kind of funny to point out landmarks to the kids as we drove down the strip: "Kids, look--there's a pyramid and the
Sphinx! Now look at the Statue of Liberty. There's the
Eiffel Tower!" So much to see.

We stayed at the South Point hotel. It was really nice, pretty new, and had a special going on where the rooms were only $35 a night! The kids loved the pools and the huge hot tub, and it was fun to stay in a nice hotel for such a great price.

Here we are at Chuck's cousin, Russ's house. Mia and
Cheyanna are just a couple of weeks apart in age. They had a lot of fun playing together. It's cute how little girls can make friends with each other so quickly.

Here are our four kids with their two kids (Mia and George).

Katie, Russ, Chuck, and Me. Russ and Chuck share a love of sports, so they always have a lot to talk about. It was great to see them and get to meet their two cute kiddos.

Going through Las Vegas was a good call on Chuck's part. Reconnecting with family we rarely get to see was worth going out of our way, but then add in all the fun attractions, the cheap room, and sight seeing, and it was a great little detour.
