Oquirrh Mountain Temple

On our drive up to Megan's house in Utah, we stopped at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House (pronounced oaker). The temple is in South Jordan, and from the hill it is on, you can see 3 other temples close by. Megan brought her au pair, Dana, and the kids and met us at the temple. Unfortunately there was a huge crowd, and we had to wait in line for over an hour before we even got into the tent with the informational video. It took us 3 hours from the time we arrived until we were through, but it was a worthwhile experience. The temple is really beautiful, and it was great for the kids to get to see the inside of a temple. After our trip, Charlie listed going in the temple as one of his favorite parts of the trip, which made me really glad that we endured the long lines.
After the walk-through, the kids were rewarded with water bottles and cookies, before making the rest of the drive up to Megan's house in Huntsville, UT. I'm glad we stopped at the temple, and it was so nice of Megan to meet us there--the kids were so excited to see their cousins that they barely minded the wait.

Hey that is OUR temple. =) It is a "mini" temple, but very beautiful inside. The night we went there was a huge thunderstorm and when we came out there was the BIGGEST double rainbow right over the temple. It was amazing. I am glad you got to take your kids to it. My kids really liked the baptismal font.
