Monsters vs Aliens
I don't usually take my camera with me to the movies, but since Granny was babysitting a "Flat Stanley" for the weekend, we wanted to document all of his activities. So you get to see a blog post about our movie experience! It was really nice of Chuck's mom to take us all to the movies to see Monsters vs Aliens . It was a cute movie, and the best part was that Cheyanna was totally blown away by the awesome 3-D effects. She had never seen a 3-D movie before, and she was sooooo excited about all those special effects. Another cool thing about the movie was that it mentioned my home town of Cocoa Beach a couple of times. :)
It was a really cold and windy Saturday. I thought this was a cute picture of Jennie, Cade, and Cheyanna walking into the theater. Notice Chuck is several paces ahead of the rest of the family. That is typical. I love the man, but he only has one walking speed--super fast! I always have to make an effort to keep up with his naturally long stride.
It was a huge treat for the kids to see a movie in a regular theater. We do take them to the dollar theater every once in a while, but Redbox rentals are a much cheaper way for the whole family to view a movie, so that's our typical movie experience. (We recently rented Bedtime Stories and that was a pretty cute movie too.)

Easter at Granny's
We spent Easter weekend at Granny's house in Tucson. Chuck's mom made so much great food (and sent us home with lots of leftovers)! The kids love spending time with her, and it was fun to have a different location for the Easter egg hunt (the kids know all of the Easter Bunny's hiding places at our house).
Cheyanna had fun finding eggs. This year she didn't stop to eat any of the candy until she was done hunting. Good strategy!

Granny's dogs love Charlie, and he loves them. Here he is with Ruby.
Ruby is showing Charlie a little love. (Yuck!)

Cheyanna is enjoying a chocolate bunny here. She is by far our pickiest eater, but she definitely loves chocolate!

Carson was dying for some boondoggle materials, so he got some for Easter, and he has been obsessed with making keychains ever since. Last night while emptying the dishwasher, he wouldn't let go of the boondoggle he was working on, so he couldn't get a good grip on the dishes, and he dropped and broke a plate! I had to put my foot down and insist that he let the keychain go until he got his chores done. He's getting good at making keychains though. Anyone want a boondoggle keychain? Place your order with Carson!
Here is Cade with the Flat Stanley that Granny is babysitting. I forgot to pack Cade's PJ's, so he got to sleep in Granny's soft and snuggly Micky Mouse sweatshirt.
We had a fun Easter at Granny's house. She always spoils us with great food and a fun time. Her ward put on a really nice Easter program that helped us to appreciate the real meaning of Easter, and to think about our Savior, the Atonement, and His Resurrection. I am so thankful for Him, and I really appreciate that through Him, we can overcome death and sin, and live again with our families. Hope you all had a Happy Easter too!

Eggcelent!
Here are a few pictures from our yearly egg-coloring night. I don't hard boil all the eggs because we would never eat that many egg salad sandwiches. There was only one egg dropped, so it didn't' get too messy. We'll be having omelets again for dinner tonight! Here's Carson with one of his masterpieces.
Cade is deeply concentrating on getting just the right shade of purple.
