Granddaddy's Funeral

Chuck's Granddad passed away on April 12, 2010.  He was almost 90 years old.  His sweet wife, Grace, died three years ago, so I'm sure there was a happy reunion on the other side.  :)  Howard was a really great man, who did so much for his community, church, and family.  He did so much volunteer work and community service--he was a great example in that area.  He was so kind and generous too.  When Chuck and I were at BYU, we would often visit his Grandparents, who only lived about 2 hours away from Provo.  I loved being at their home. They both treated me so kindly.  We all went up to UT for his funeral, and here are some pictures from that weekend.  Here is a group picture of most of Chuck's family at the cemetery.

After the dedication of the grave, family members were invited to take a rose from the casket bouquet.  Here is Cade picking a rose.

Chuck's sister Megan's Birthday was the day of the funeral.  After the services, the kids swam all afternoon at the hotel's pool, and then we went to Taco Time for dinner and Ideal Dairy for dessert and to celebrate Megan's Birthday.

Howard was the best man at our wedding.  Here is a picture of him giving a toast at our reception.  In his toast, he said he hoped we'd have lots of boys to carry on the family name.  :)  Goodbye, Granddaddy...til we meet again.

I love the picture of Cade with the rose. Sorry about your loss, but it is nice to know that he has joined his sweetheart again, isn't it?
