Here is the tree before the unwrapping. The big gift is a new basketball hoop for the boys from Grandpa Ed.
Santa brings each of our kids one gift each year. I like to keep track of what their "Santa" gift was, because it is funny to look back from year to year at how the kids' tastes and priorities have changed as they haved grown. We have fun remembering the Santa gifts of the past. This year, Santa brought Charlie a Super Mario Wii game, Carson a Rubix 360, Cade a Kingdom Hearts DS game, and Cheyanna a Zhu Zhu pet hamster and fun house. Those Zhu Zhu pets were hard to come by! I wouldn't be surprised if Santa had to pay three times what it was worth on e-bay in order to get one for Cheyanna. But it was worth the effort to see her excitement and joy over that crazy little mechanical hamster.
Stocking Time....
Chuck gave me this Taylor Lautner book :). The kids all got a hundred dollar bill from Aunt Dina! They thought that was super cool.
Charlie wasted no time getting started on Super Mario Bros.
Cheyanna was super excited to get another Webkinz. She named this one Mrs. Chicken. All she wanted to buy with her $100 was another Webkinz! I took them shopping last week, and they all had a blast picking out what they wanted. Again, their spending reflects their personalities. Carson bought a bike and a football, Charlie bought a hiking backback and some backpacking gear, Cade bought some Webkinz, a basketball, and is eying a Wii game. Christmas morning with kids is so fun! These years with kids young enough to get excited and enjoy the festivities are priceless. Christmas Eve we watched "Mr. Kreugar's Christmas," our family tradition, and then read the Christmas story from Luke 2. Then we each shared our testimony of our Savior, and why we are so grateful for him. I'm so thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I love the giving, love and joy that goes along with Christmas.
